Coaching is a rewarding profession but it takes time and effort to create a successful business. RCI’s affordable relationship coach training & certification membership program provides far more support and benefits at a much lower cost than if you were to obtain the same services separately.
Relationship Coaching Institute is NOT a traditional coach training school
Founded in 1997 by David Steele, MA, MFT, CLC, RCI is the first and largest relationship coach training organization, purpose-built to provide all the support needed to be a successful relationship coach for singles and couples. At a typical coach training program you simply pay for training and that is all they provide. You are a “student” in their school, take a class or training, graduate and you’re done. Then, it’s up to you to build your business.
RCI’s affordable relationship coach training membership program means that you aren’t a “student” – you are a “member”. We don’t provide our trainings separate from membership because it doesn’t serve you to simply take a course or two then attempt to build your business on your own or coach clients without a safety net of mentors supporting you. You want more than to graduate a training; you want to be a successful relationship coach, and we are invested in your success.
Your RCI relationship coach training & certification membership program starts with an enrollment fee and continues with a monthly membership fee
When you join RCI you pay a one-time Enrollment fee and agree to RCI’s monthly membership fee for as long as you wish to be a member of RCI. Included in your RCI membership is our support, coaching and marketing materials, live training and/or self-study courses, and all the other benefits in effect at the time. You are not paying for a specific training or specific membership benefits; you are paying for access to all that your level of membership includes.

When you join most health clubs in the U.S., you pay a one-time initiation (enrollment) fee, then an ongoing monthly membership fee. There may be many exercise devices and classes at the club: Free weights, cardio machines, strength machines, group exercise, a swimming pool, spin classes, yoga, etc. You can go to the classes and use the equipment as long as you remain a member of the health club. This is the same for your RCI membership – you can take advantage of any of the benefits in your membership (including training) as long as you are a member of RCI.

Certification
Certification provides you with credibility as a relationship coaching professional. It demonstrates a minimum level of training and competence for the public and partners.
- RCI Certification is available with successful completion of live training or self-study courses for an additional fee and a few additional certification requirements
- Master level RCI Certification also available
- Please note: Certification is optional and there is an assessment and application fee
- Our live training can be used for your ICF credentialing using the portfolio path
