FAQ: How can I join Relationship Coaching Institute if I can't afford the enrollment fee?

First, as an aspiring coach, it’s time for a mindset shift.  Instead of "I can't because...." it’s time to start asking yourself (and others) "How can I...?"  There is always a way, and if you train your brain to look for new solutions to problems, you will be able to find the way to accomplish what you want.  A bonus of consistently doing this is that your brain will develop new neuropathways, making subsequent problems easier to solve and you will become a more positive person and more effective coach.

This is a great way to hit the ground running and start generating immediate income and build your relationship coaching business even before you start your RCI training.

3. Sponsors

Who in your life wants to see you succeed in helping others? Between family, friends, church and temple communities, future joint venture partners, etc, you might find a highly supportive community willing to sponsor your RCI enrollment because they care about you, believe in you, and want to invest in making the world a better place. You can even propose an exchange by providing pro bono or low cost coaching (after your training, for a specified time period) to your sponsors or their communities.

4. Pre-Sell your services

Just as Apple and other companies take orders for products before they're released, and travelers book their flights and hotels in advance, as soon as you enroll in RCI you will have the tools, support, and resources to immediately market your services.

For example, if you know your training starts June 1st, you can schedule a Conscious Dating® class, workshop, or coaching group for singles to start July 1st (or sooner or later) and immediately start marketing to your community. This can be as simple as asking everyone you know to pass the word, post announcements online and in your local community, partner with a church, temple, or other organized group that includes lots of singles, etc. You'll find that people get very excited about what you're offering and are very willing to support you by telling their single friends. Don't take our word for it- stop reading right now and call up a few friends and try it!

Conducting a Conscious Dating® program in the first month of your training is extremely do-able with our step-by-step, easy-to-follow curriculum, professionally-designed client workbooks, and plentiful support and mentoring available to you. You only need to be a few weeks ahead of your clients in your training! Your participants will be very understanding and supportive if you're honest with them that this is your first program and you provide them a nice discount. 5. Use your credit card or other line of credit

Almost all new businesses are financed in whole or part by credit. We understand that you might be reluctant to incur debt, but not all debt is bad. When you use credit to start a new business or expand your existing business, you are making an investment, which is a good thing, and what all successful businesses do. Even RCI was started in 1997 with credit card debt! Just set a goal for starting a class or workshop and/or commit to start getting paying clients within a month or two after you start your training, and your membership will be paid off before you know it.

6. Promote RCI to your colleagues

Sign up for our affiliate program and use your affiliate link to refer your colleagues to RCI and earn 15% commission (that's approx. $1,000.00 for our highest level of membership). Even better, gather a team of your colleagues to collaborate in co-creating a local Conscious Relationship Community (Club Relate)

7. Hold a fundraiser

What could you do to fund your RCI membership? Pre-selling your services (as mentioned in #4 above) is one way, but there is no limit to the creative ways to raise funds for a worthy cause. Brainstorm with your friends and family and ask for their support.

Important Note: As an aspiring coach you must assume abundance and address your own limiting beliefs before you can help any clients to do so.

FAQ: I want to be a relationship coach but can't afford the training. Does RCI provide scholarships?

Providing scholarships is antithetical to coaching, and here's why-

1. Being a coach is an entrepreneurial endeavor.

An entrepreneur is passionate about building their business and creative and resourceful in finding ways to do so. There are many ways to fund RCI membership (as described above), including-

- Payment plans
- Sponsorships (family, friends, church communities, etc)
- Marketing the Conscious Dating Virtual Coaching Program (generates immediate income AND gets a practice started)
- Pre-Selling Services (coaching, classes, workshops)

If motivated to be a relationship coach but unable (or unwilling) to use the above strategies, the likelihood of success at making a living as a self employed relationship coach is low. As much as we would like to support you to be a successful relationship coach, some folks are better suited to having a job than private practice.

2. Results are highly correlated with investment

Coaches require their clients to pay a significant fee for their services, not only to make a living, but because human nature dictates that people follow through and get results when they invest in something, and are not as likely to succeed if admission is free or low cost.

3. Coaching is about abundance, not survival.

Someone that has difficulty meeting their basic needs and functioning in the world- mentally, emotionally, financially, is not a candidate for coaching and needs to either shift their mindset from survival to abundance (and be an entrepreneur as above) or focus on their survival needs first. Relationship coach training will not put food on your table or pay for your housing today, tomorrow, next week, or even next month. If survival is truly an issue, joining RCI is not the answer.

FAQ: Can I join RCI if I have no training or experience in coaching or other helping profession?

Yes! You would need to join at our Premium Plus or Lifetime membership level and participate in our ICF-approved Fast Track Coach Training program to learn foundational coaching skills in addition to our relationship coaching trainings.

FAQ: Can ANYONE become a Relationship Coach?

Almost anyone, especially, if you have the following characteristics:

• Passion: you are passionate about relationships
• Purpose: you have a strong desire to help others
• Experience: you have enough life and relationship experience to relate to and mentor others (you don't have to be perfect, our struggles are our best teachers)
• Training/Mentoring: Coaching is a distinct profession with specific skills that cannot be learned from a book

The desire to help others is among the most noble, however this desire tends to be driven by either ego or service.

Ego motivates people to help others as a way to gain status, power, money, and self-esteem.

Service motivates people to help others from a selfless calling to a higher mission.
