Being a health professional in today's world is a challenging profession.
Due to high patient caseloads, budget cuts, understaffing, cultural differences, and many other constraints, it is increasingly hard to provide the quality care we desire.
For these reasons, CFHI is partnering with the Center for Nonviolent Communication, (CNVC) and Relationship Coaching Institute to offer a six week tele-training introducing Compassionate Communication techniques to medical professionals.
This pilot project is a chance to participate in a leading-edge effort to raise the professionalism and humanism of healthcare through effective, compassionate communication strategies.
This innovative program addresses inherent communication challenges to the medical professional. Improving the effectiveness of your communication as a medical professional can improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your work. Learn skills that will be life-long assets for you professionally and personally.
In this program you will learn how to-
- Communicate effectively in brief interactions
- Accurately understand your patients and co-workers feelings
and needs
- Become more aware of the automatic assumptions and judgments you may make
without even realizing
- Communicate with a compassionate and understanding style
that can build trust between you and your patients
- Address the clinician - patient power imbalance
- Be assertive, clear, and flexible, so patients
more readily accept your explanations and
directions
This is a free test program conducted exclusively for CFHI alumni. CNVC has been teaching and refining these effective communication tools for
35 years. This new training is adapted to specifically target the needs of medical
professionals. Participants must commit to
participate live by telephone for 2 hours per week for six weeks and agree to complete brief online survey evaluations that will be used to improve the adaptation of these principles to health professionals.
